The
Highlands Ability BatteryTM
I
am excited to announce that I am now certified as a
Highlands Ability BatteryTM feedback consultant.
The Highlands Ability BatteryTM is a state-of-the-art
assessment tool that objectively measures a person's
innate abilities. The results can then be used very
effectively as a coaching tool for people who are making
decisions about career choice, career transition,
college choice or life transitions .
What I like about The Highlands Ability BatteryTM
is that it taps into different types of abilities such
as spatial abilities, design abilities, music abilities,
reasoning abilities, and others. By isolating each ability,
the battery often reveals previously undiscovered talents.
This is different than most 'tests' in that it does
not measure learned materials. You cannot prepare for
it. It consists of eighteen different tests that measure
a specific ability. There is no pass or fail. All scores
relate to a person's unique ability pattern rather than
finding 'good' or 'bad' scores.
I find that the tests identify how a person naturally
works best and where the innate talents lie. Knowing
and understanding those abilities is the first step
in creating a personal vision for a person's education
or career. It is equally effective with students as
well as with adults who want to assess their natural
abilities and maximize them.
The Highlands Program was founded in 1990 by Bob McDonnald,
Ph.D. and Don Hutcheson with the intent of finding objective
tools to help evaluate a person's innate abilities.
